A couple of weeks ago, we did run to Wisconsin Dells (waterpark capital of the word) to get some photos of the snow sculptures. But it was so cold, in the negative degrees, that all of the sculptures had frozen dirty looking snow in places, like these.
Cow Tipping Gone Wrong
Since the snow sculptures looked so sad I turned my attention to the blacksmith.
This is what came home with us.
I think I need to go to Wisconsin some day. It just seems like there are
all kinds of cool things to do.
Yeah...I agree with you.. Dirty snow...blacksmith.. I think that is such a
neat craft. Very nice purchase!
That is beautiful...how wonderful it must have been to see it actually get
made! You make me want to visit Wisconsin!
Very nice artwork! The one thing that I distinctly remember about the
Dells is the size of the mosquitos! I realize they are not a problem right
now but, holy mother of God, they were huge!
Great series of photos, Lisa. I'm surprised to see him handling the metal
with his bare hands. I guess it's not hot through and through.
I love the photos! I hope to visit Wisconsin soon! ;)
I know I always say this....BUT...I love coming to your page and looking at
your pictures! If you are ever out and about and see a cool looking
lake...will you take some pics for me!?!?!?!? I want to do some black and
white pictures in one of the bedrooms at our lake house...Maybe make it the
room "Lakes From All Over" all black and white?!?!? Just a thought! I
will pay you for them!!! (let me know what I would be looking at money
wise) I've been meaning to get my BIG pentex out with my HUGE big
lens...BUT...I just haven't!!!! I wanted to put a roll of back and white
and take some pictures of the lake! Let me know if you come up with
anything! I'm kind of guessing your lakes are too cold right now...lol
I would have found my way to the nearest fire, too! These sculptures are
amazing.
Nice series. I enjoyed all your other photos also.
Cow tipping gone wrong! LMAO!!! The tiny hearts are awesome!! So is it a
hook to hang your coat or hat on? Great photos, again!!
Nice piece, a coat hanger? So what was going on in the Dells? If you get a
chance you should stop by the Candy Corner. I thought the snow sculptures
looked pretty good.
cow tipping. I've heard that term lots lately. Wherever did that come
from?
It sure looks cute in ice, tho.
You guys do THE coolest things out there in Wisconsin!! My brother used to
lived in Waukesha....but only for about a year...then he was transferred
back to the East Coast.
What a pretty piece you got from the blacksmith...and the fact that you saw
it get made makes it special!
Snow scuptures in the waterpark capital of the world? How ironic. The
distinction Wisconsin holds for me is that it is the state with the most
dead deer on the side of the highway I have ever seen. I musta seen two
dozen when I drove thru on my way to Alaska.
Blacksmith work is fascinating and I love the pictures!
That's so cool! I have never seen a blacksmith at work before!
Well, it looks like it was not all a loss. It is amazing what an old art
can conjure up.
