Among other survivors

I was so happy to meet up with everyone last night at the first phase of my retreat.  Although I was extremely nervous I was also excited at being able to come.  I worried Brit's health would keep me at home but she promised she would call if she had to go to the ER again and Mikal and Amy would be available to help her if needed until I could get back.  She slept a lot of yesterday but by evening her pain had subsided and she sounded good, more normal.

So, we arrived at the Wilderness Resort in Wisconsin Dells (home of America's largest waterpark), checked into our awesome room with full access to three, yes three, waterparks!  How unfair that we couldn't bring the boys.  Shhh, we just won't tell them.  We all met up for dinner and a short session and it was great!

On the way to the retreat I had told Dennis that I hoped my friend was there, the lady I had met at his retreat.  She and I had lunch together on that last day of his retreat and I really enjoyed her company.  Guess what. . . she's the first person I saw last night!  We caught up on the last year and I told her I had emailed her but hadn't gotten a response so maybe I'd typed something wrong.  Her husband asked her how she'd given me her email address when she doesn't even know it.  :)

Can you imagine what a room is like with 15+ people all suffering from chemobrain?!  Let's just say it was very entertaining.  Thank God for the leaders and our caregivers helping keep us focused!  Or maybe I should say trying to.  Also, can you imagine how many kleenex we went through while telling our stories and hearing each other's?  Very emotional evening.

Today will be spent in a relaxed sessions, yoga and a luxurious trip to the Sundara Spa.  I will feel like a princess and won't want to go home.  And have I mentioned that this entire retreat is at no cost to us?

I almost forgot to mention that a good portion of my entry regarding Dennis' retreat were published in the Angel on My Shoulder newsletter.  Cool!  I had no idea Lolly had even visited my blog.

Just a week ago I was complaining about snow and tomorrow it's supposed to be 79 degrees!  Ouch.  Ok, I'm picky, but we already established that.  I want it to be 55-65 all the time.  That's the perfect temp to me. In fact, lately, I've been begging Dennis to move further north. :)

I've been taking tons of photos but probably won't load them until Monday.  Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend too!
