Bashing & Caching

We left at midnight last Thursday to make our way to Muncie Indiana for the GPS Adventure Maze exhibit/event on our way to the Midwest Geobash this was after a day full of packing and preparing while Dennis actually had to work until 10:30 p.m.

We spent all night driving and fair is fair, I stayed awake all night with Dennis.  We sang stupid 80's songs with the radio to stay awake and even stopped at a few caches along the way to stretch our legs and wake up a bit.  You can get through Chicago pretty quickly at 3 in the morning.  Even if you stop at the I-Pass Oasis's for a cache or two.  Yes there is a quick cache at each Oasis.

We arrived in Muncie right on time, 10 a.m., for the first event on our agenda.

GPS Adventures

Minnetrista

Loved this awesome sculpture right in front of Minnetrista.  Once we hit the event and were among the living, rested people, some of their energy must have rubbed off on us because we were able to keep going until midnight without feeling too bad.

GPS Adventure cookie

Each off us were given a lovely cookie.  Wouldn't this make a great travel bug!  Sorry, I ate it and it was as good as it looks.

waterlily

Of course I had to pause at the pond for a photo of the lillies.  We did a few area caches with a group, bought the event coin and were on our way.

GPS Adventure Geocoin

Geobash Geocoin

Had to get up to the bash while we still had daylight to set up our tent and get our T-shirts, event bags and coins.  We made out, well, like bandits.

bag and pins

We had wonderful weather the entire time we were there, upper 70's during the day and in the 50's at night.  Both evenings were spent with many of us around the campfire and chatting.

Friday evening my jaw started hurting, it continued until, well, it continues still, but I figured out that it must be a tooth and saw a dentist yesterday.  Am taking antibiotics now.  So with all of our travels, doctors, switching blogs (I'm still working on my domain issues) and playing catch-up at home I am a little slow updating.  Stayed tuned for Day 2 of our trip tomorrow.

Oh my!! You have made me want to start geocaching again!! I forgot how much fun it can be. The family isn't in to it anymore so I'll be a loner cacher, but I really need to fire up my GPS and get started again.
