Fun Monday: Websites

posted Monday, 14 January 2008

fun monday

Ann is our hostess this week:

I want to hear about a web site and not just about any old web site. I want to hear about a web site that's changed your life. A web site that you can't live without. A web site whose inventor you'd like to see win a McArthur Genius Grant.

Maybe you want to sing the praises of a dating web site for helping you meet your spouse. Maybe the only thing getting you through the dark days of winter is an Internet comic. No story is too big, no story is too small - I want to hear it all on Monday.

springy

I’m happy for a multitude of websites but I suppose I will just show you a few that have changed my life lately. This website gave me hope when I felt all hope was gone, or it at least led me to people who gave me hope.

I used to visit the geocaching website everyday but haven’t as much lately. This seems like a good time to invite the fellow geocachers reading me to tell me your caching name and a city nearby you and I will send you a Wisconsin postcard via the Geo-Post Office. (There doesn’t need to be a geo-post office near you they can be put in any cache.)

And I think my life will be changed the most by this website (still under construction), time will tell.

Newdae looks cool! I'm assuming it's yours?

My geo name is Gladeslvr & Crew, but I think you already knew that. We don't have any geopost offices down here, but send a card down anyway. Maybe I should start one...

Wow! It never ceases to amaze me how "things" work. Was wanting to come up with a new menu for us this week...there it was: Mayo Clinic. AND, had photography on the brain since I've arrived home...there it was... Thanks.

You've gotten me interested in geocaching...but I've yet to buy what I need to do so (have you ever posted on that part of it? hinthint).

When you're in the trials of illness, finding a hopeline (in addition to prayer) is vital; I think having hope makes a lot of difference in recovery.

Y'all will do GREAT w/your new business venture! I've always thought your photographs are some of the best ones in the blogosphere! Keep us posted on that, too! :)

Newdae is my husband and I, although it's him with all the professional experience I feel comfortable giving it a go now. It's taken me some time to get comfortable behind the camera and develop an eye but I think I'm finally there enough to be there with him. Also, as a little test, to see if people read the comments, I got a new camera too.

Robin, I will do a post about GPSes in the next few days. :)

Lisa, I'm so excited for you with your photography site! Have I told you my dad has been a professional photographer for over 40 years? I love photography, but I'm no good at it.

The Mayo Clinic is a wonderful place. I'm so glad you found them when you needed to.
