Next stop on our vacation route was Garden of the Gods. It’s really a magnificent place and we could have spent a lot more time there but we had other places we wanted to see.
There were some rock climbers on the day we were there. And it was pretty cool to watch them scaling up.
Such a magnificent view, with the mountains behind.
We had walkie talkies with us so we let Haden go off by himself for a bit, he was dying to climb a little and I wanted to look for birds. He was unaware that we could see him at this point.
But we called to him and snapped a photo for his grandparents. My little Mountain Goat. Although, at 16 he doesn’t like to be called little.
He’s a pretty good climber. But I did remind him that he doesn’t have insurance so don’t break anything.
He had great time wondering around, didn’t break anything and did wear off some of that been-in-the-car-too-long energy.
That place looks just gorgeous - I can imagine having a long vacation just
there :)!
Awesome shots!
Beautiful country! I'm always amazed at how some people take to rock
climbing...and can do it!
What gorgeous pictures! Looks like an awesome trip!!
Wow!! Amazing pictures and view. I have never been to Colorado before but
would love to go some day. Such an amazing view!
My husband and I were in CO on vacation last year and stopped at Garden of
the Gods. I agree, it is magnificent! Your pictures are wonderful.
Thanks for sharing all these wonderful photos, beautiful country which I
wanted to visit in the future.
Beautiful shots! CO is on my "to visit" list.

Wow! Brath-taking. I wasn't sure at first if the pictures were real, but
they were! Awesome.
I'm soooo glad you took in some great sights. NLM and I spent the first
few days together at Garden of the Gods. At that time, you could drive all
the way through. We'd stop here and there, get out, take pictures, then
drive on. Geez, was it THAT long ago?? Great shots.
Wow lisa, as usual, absolutely breathtaking photos. But these really awe
me...wow those are some fantastic rocks, aren't they? Garden of the Gods
indeed.
Awesome! That is a very magnificent place!
Easy to see where they got the name from!! This place is now on my list of
places I NEED to go!!! As I read your blog, my list keeps getting longer!!
I just love it out West... Your pictures are really, really amazing!
Oh man! You guys were SO CLOSE and I missed you! I visit Garden of the
Gods almost daily, it's an amazing place isn't it!? One of the many
reasons why I love living in Colorado Springs......
I was just doing a search on Colorado Springs, and came across your post
about Garden of the Gods. WOW, what beautiful photographs! You really
captured the huge, weird, haunting beauty of that park. Excellent
photography. That rock climbing photo made me hold my breath. Nice job!
If you get a chance to return, check out the "Siamese Twins" rock
formation. You can take a photo of Pikes Peak with a natural sandstone
frame. Fun stuff.
