Memaw's Brag Bag

posted Thursday, 6 September 2007

My mom and my grandma love to sew. They meet up every Wednesday to sew together and my daughter and I reap the benefits of this weekly ritual. A few weeks ago we each got a denim purse, made from an old pair of jeans, with bandana fabric as the lining - they are really cute!

Our latest treasure is a tote or book bag with photos of our little Tristan all over it. Tristan’s mama’s bag says, “Mom’s Brag Bag” and here’s a couple of photos of mine.

The plastic made it real hard to photograph but you get the idea.  There are photos all over the back too.  Thanx mom!

How CRAFTY they are. I love CRAFTY people. Cute pics. How long has that butterfly been flying up there on your masthead?

They usually make us each a quilt for Christmas each year too. We are lucky. :) The butterfly has been there about a month I have been thinking it's time to change it up.

I have just read your last several posts. I love all of the pictures, the photographer did a great job.

I love the bags...actually I am jealous. I need someone to sew for me.

The walking stick was cool looking.

And then I read you are on Facebook...I am going to add you as a friend. I am just getting started and I really don't know what I am doing, but I am trying.

What a super looking bag!! I've seen these before...used for ATC's (Artist Trading Cards). My mom was an excellent seamstress...I can't even sew on a button! You are very lucky to have such talent in your family....tell your mom and your grandma they do beautiful work!

You're Memaw? I thought that was a southern thing. Oh, wait. Something is stirring in my memory banks. Missouri?

Jessica, I chose Memaw because the little fellow has so many grandmas and I wanted to be special. But yes I'm Missouri born and raised.
