out of the loop

Confession time. When Mikal came to visit a few days ago he brought one of his gaming systems. I have no clue which one, Xbox, Playstation, Wii. . .he has them all. Soon he will need a bigger car and a little weight lifting to carry all of his toys with him. Like mother, like son.

Anyway, he brought Guitar Heroes 3. He’s absolutely hooked, as it seems many, many others are. After careful consideration, well I had the “guitar” in my hand for all of 5 minutes total time, I don’t get it. Why are so many people so addicted? And was there a Guitar Heroes 1 and 2, or did they just jump to 3? If there was a 1 and 2, why did I never hear of them? And what happened to Super Mario Brothers? Or even pong?

I was happy he let me touch it; I felt so privileged when he passed this musical instrument to me. I was in awe, but soon I was dieing, or in danger of being booed or something and the guitar was quickly taken away so Mikal could save it. Huh? I thought with all the hub-bub revolving around the game, that I might kinda like it. But you have to poke here and click there and all I could really hear was the plastic click-click. I found the plastic very annoying. I really didn’t even find the screen that interesting.

Are you addicted? What about it is addicting? Please help me get up to speed. Maybe I need the game that you dance around on the pad. Does anyone remember that one? Oh I know why it’s not popular, because you have to get up and move.

I have to admit, we just got guitar hero III last weekend (I don't know about one or two) and I did find it addicting. Why? I'm not sure. It is one of the few video games I can actually advance in.

I've never even seen a Guitar Hero III in person. I've never played XBox, Playstation, etc. either. The only video games I play are the free ones on my comcast internet account when I'm so bored I can't think of anything else to occupy my time.

Hooked. My son and daughter are absolutely hooked on Guitar Hero. And my son has a friend who comes over and he plays on the warp speed setting which is incredible to watch.

I didn't like video games back when, and still don't like the computer games where you have to use speed and agility, maybe because I lack in those areas. I don't know much about the stuff, but son T has a bunch of things and games and he likes it. Me, don't even like the computer typing tests; I get all finger tied.

I don't get it either, I think it's a boy thing as the three men in my life are total addicts!

I don't get it. I do enjoy watching my 10 yr old play it. I tried and I suck adn there is no way I can get better at it. It isn't just boys though, Tiggerlane and her offspring are into it, and one of my friends daughters(16yr old) is so into it she is fast like lightning, due to her being SO good at it she's not hooked...she is the master!
