Robin asked us to share quotes that inspire us. Long ago, in a land far away, or at least a few states away, I wrote quotes on post-it notes and plastered them on a board, so I could see them everyday. I can’t seem to find them all again but I was able to find one of my favorites.
No one can make you feel inferior without your consent. ~ Eleanor Roosevelt
A couple others, no clue who said them, that I have come across more recently are:
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving
safely in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather to skid in
sideways, chocolate in hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and
screaming "WOO HOO What a Ride!"
Don't ask for a miracle, BE the miracle.
I LOVE the WooHoo What a Ride one!!! Happy FM!!
Both are great quotes but I especially agree wholeheartedly with the seond
one!
Hee hee, those are all good.
The Elaeanor Roosevelt one is so true but easy to forget. I will try to
remember it more, and the other one is hust fabulous. :D
I love that "Life should not be journey" quote...A few of my friends use
that and it's absolutely brilliant!
I love that one about the journeyof life! It's so true!
I have had the "what a ride" quote stuck on my bulletin board at work for
years. Love it!
Love 'em. And love the photos you shared with them too. That Ms.
Roosevelt was wise beyond comparison to any other 1st Lady!!!
Both are Great! The 2nd one is truly something to live by!
Excellent quotes, hope I'm screaming woohoo what a ride.
Love your quotes, especially the second one! Happy FUN Monday!
Love BOTH of those. I also used a couple from Eleanor - she truly had a
great way of putting things.
Loved all three ... and the pix! Very cute ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
great ones...I love them both.
I LOVE the Eleanor quote - I have variations of it, like "No one can make
you feel upset - it's a choice you make for yourself." or "Don't allow
someone else's actions to create your emotions." I'm always using this
line or a variation thereof - great quote!
THAT WAS CUTE!!!
I'm sooooooooooooooooooooo not good with words...I know you and all my
reads must know that...HE HE HE!!! I'm just good with exclamation
points!!! HE HE HE!!!
I Came up with this one day when a friend of mine lost a friend....
Anyone who struggles with self esteem issues should memorize ER's quote.
How empowering to know that we actually have that control over our lives.
I have seen them both and the woohoo what a ride one recently in an email.
Love it.
I love both those quotes. I have to keep reminding myself of the second
one - and not fall victim to thinking that I need to do something to stay
young... I plan to turn in a totally trashed body at the end of it all...
P.S. - that picture of me? I was 30. 16 years ago. (gasp - seems like
yesterday)
Yeah, I know these of which you speak. The ER is one of my most favorite
quotes EVAH (and I almost included it today...the only reason I didn't was
I was SURE someone else would use it--so thanks!).
A couple of great quotes. I particularly like the second on and I've posted
it on one of my past Witty weds.
That's lots of sit ups you'll be doing tonight. I should do the same
thing. It's such a great idea. And, I love the middle one with the
chocolate.
Great choices! I'm loving this week's reading.
I love that second quote, and the photo you put with it was perfect. Of
course the first quote is excellent to remember when feeling looked down on
and it is good to be a miracle rather than expect one.
what a ride indeed!!!!
I did a google, hoping to find some one to attribute your great quote,
couldn't find any thing. There were lots of variations. Here's a great
variation:
Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive, well presevered body but rather to arrive
with a box of chocolates in one hand and a dirty martini in the other. Your
body already worn out from great sex.
I like the Eleanor Roosevelt quote best -- it is so very true and so very
easy to forget.
I'm soooo late, but better late than never, huh? Love your quotes. I wish
I could have them running over and over again in my head all day and maybe
they would sink in.
What a ride !! All are great quotes.
I slid through a chocolate mouse tonight. took your inspirational advise
hee hee
I love them all, but the second one is FANTASTIC. WOO HOO!!!
Oh, I LOVE all of these, all favorites of mine too!!
and where is Eleanor Roosevelt when we need her the most? Oh, wait, we ARE
her! Thanks for the reminders.
