This Round Robin Challenge is Railroads. Thanx for the fun topic Gina!
It’s kind of funny because I snapped this photo before I knew what the topic was going to be. I know it’s nothing special, and I was actually just playing with the camera settings, seeing if I could let the train blur and such. The other reason I took the photo was to show the bridge. When I took the photo I was at a boat landing, the only way to the landing was under the bridge. That was scary! The left hand side is the side we came through first and the road dips down, way lower than the ground all around. Like going through a big dip. And it was narrow! I’m thinking if cars get any bigger they won’t fit. I had to close my eyes, cuz I just knew we were going to lose our side mirrors.
The Lincoln Park Conservatory in Chicago currently has several trains set up in their Show House. What luck!
Here I was enjoying playing with my macro lens when I stumbled upon the trains.

Hi Lisa :)
These are great! Thanks for stopping by my journal and leaving your nice
comment. :)
Did you notice the first picture of the signals looks just like cartoon
eyes (Daisy Duck I think)
I love the bridge photo. As for the model trains, my boys would love to see
them.
Nice shots! I would say more, but my little son is on my lap.....lol1
Another great set of photos~ I love them all.
Great photos. I love the bridge one. There is a rail overpass near us
that must be 13'6" for the truck traffic on the road. Every time they
overlay the roadway, they must dig out the part under the bridge. It gets
scarier and scarier and the road, which cannot be widened there, was built
long before semis were as wide as they are now. The oncoming trucks must
take turns.
I LOVE the shot of the train speeding by...great motion capture!
I just love the first 2! Those mini icicles are just the best! The detail
on that orchid is stunning!
Hiya Lisa, Just wanted to let you know I have finally posted about your
lovely ornament!
I hope to be able to take photos like this someday. I love that you used
just the lights of the signal, and the ice on them. The clarity and color
is so beautiful on all your shots. Kudos to ya.
Wow, great photos... not just of trains but of everything. (Ron Paul told
me to tell you he knows where you live ;-)
I agree with everyone, love your photos. I especially like the picturesque
one with the train signal lights.
Very nice photographs.
KEWL!! The shots with the snow are awesome. I love the "little" trains,
too. I had a friend whose dad had his whole basement turned into his own
little world of trains. I was just fascinated watching him work on it over
the years.
I love, love, love those first two shots! I'm sitting here in Tucson,
suddenly shivering. You really did get a good blur effect on the dark train
against the static white background. The model RR ones are good, too!
That is some neat pictures. We have a bridge in our town that is real low
and narrow. It has scared me since I was a little girl. I guess cause it
looks like it could cave any minute. They have took all the train tracks up
here in our town. I didn't like it, but I guess I didn't have much say.
I enjoyed these photos very much. Each has its own particular appeal for
me. I especially like the shot of the railroad lights. It seems that one
could have also been tricky to get.
There is a model train expo in Denver this weekend. Can't go, but I have
always been fascinated with the concept of creating a world of nostagia -
where trains rule. Maybe I can still do that someday. Great macro by the
way. NLM
They are very nice all your pictures and the result with Macro lens is
great !
Love that picture of the bridge. There was a similar one not far from where
I live that just got torn down.
Great photos, I really love the first one!
Very nice photos. I especially love the last one, even though it isn't
train related.
I love what you've done with the RR Challenge. Some great photos.
