I would love to give you an April Fool's joke but I'm too tired. My Internet was down much of yesterday while the rain came, so I cleaned house instead of playing on the computer. Shhh, don't tell hubby that's the trick or he may be turning it off occasionally and just telling me it's not working.
Mother Nature is busy weaving an April Fools for us, tricking us into thinking Spring is here then sending us more snow. Come on, it's April, enough snow already. Probably, the person being feeling the most tricked right now would be the Sandhill Cranes, who thought it was safe to return. I bet they wish they had stayed south a little longer. It's wonderful to hear their unique sounds again but I hope they find some warm place to wait out this weather.
In other news, my mom and dad had a tornado touch down about a mile from their home (Neosho, MO) yesterday. Their nearest convenience store was demolished so I guess mom will have to drive further for an emergency loaf of bread. I don't know if anyone was hurt. I just know my parents are ok.
That is very scary about the tornado coming so close to your parents home!
So glad to hear that they are ok. I lived in Ohio for fourteen years and
to this day, tornados scare the hell out of me...we used to have t-warnings
all the time. The crane pics you took are amazing!
Uh, glad your parents are ok!
And hey, Spring will come (and stay) soon :)
Such beautiful cranes!
Phew! Glad your folks are alright. I watched a tornado on TV and it can be
really destructive!
Great bird pictures; good that your parents are safe. In our neck of the
woods, this has been a very odd spring.
It's good to know that your parents are fine!
Great pictures of the cranes, you seem to have amazing wildlife and nature
where you live!
These are amazing photos. Hope the computer stops acting up for you!
thanks for the pics of the Sandhill I've not seen one before. Glad your
folks were ok.
Oh they're back..so the weather is not so cold anymore?
Whoa! I'm glad your folks are ok. Sorry about your internet. that is so
frustrating. The cranes are amazing.
Gosh I'm glad to hear your parents are OK, it must have been scary for
them! The crane photos are lovely.
Beautiful photos! Glad to hear your parents are oka...tornados, that's
some scary stuff!
Glad your parents are OK. My heart stopped when I read this part.
Tornados are the pits, we have very few here in the West, but they do
happen.
Yikes, glad your parents are ok!
Love your bird shots, looks like I had the same idea today! :-)
Tornadoes scare the hell out of me too! Fortunately they are few and far
between here....but still!
We did not get snow, but plenty of rain last night today looks very cloudy
though.
Hopefully it is clear tomorrow as we need to start moving things to
storage.
You got some great shots there, I was up near Waupaca over the
weekend and wished I would have had my camera so I could have got sme
pictures of the cranes.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. Love the pics of the birds.
Glad to hear your folks are okay. Seems like an odd time of year for a
tornado! Those photos are amazing, Lisa. Such elegant lines on these
birds.
I'm glad your mom and dad are okay! That would have FREAKED me out! I
don't do well in storms! AT ALL!
Wow ... these photos are amazing to a 'city gal' like myself, but I'm sure
I'd be chomping at the bit for Spring if I still had 'snow' on the ground
and the 'rains' you've been experiencing. I'm glad your parents are okay.
great pictures. glad to hear nobody (immediate family) were hurt in the
tornado.
How scary for your parents- I'm so glad they are okay.
It's amazing the things we can accomplish when the Internet isn't working,
isn't it?
What stunning photos, Lisa! Sandhill Cranes are beautiful. I never realized
how HUGE they were! We get them in our fields (much to Hubby's
dismay...they eat our crops!). We sometimes get HUNDREDS of them in our
fields. I still think they're beautiful birds!
WOW, I am so glad your parents are okay. How scary! And you're right -
the only April fools we're getting is this weather. From a snow advisory
to a flood warning in 24 hours!
That is so cool, you did great in taking all these photos. Happy WW!
Oh by the way i just got back from one month away of participating the WW
so these are my entries now.

that's a sad news about your parents.but anyway this is cool pictures you
take.
That's terrible for your parents. I never experienced a tornado must be
terrible. Fortunately they are OK. The bird shots are beautiful !
Jan I'm still laughing that your hubby didn't figure that one out. Was he
surprised when it magically started working again?
Sassy Mama Bear, We took those in Hartman Creek, near Waupaca. :) I'm just
so happy to see them back.
That would scare the hell out of me if I had a tornado near me. Good thing
your parents are okay. In regards to the pics, I love the third one down.
Glad to hear your folks are ok. I'll take hurricanes over tornadoes any
day. At least we know when they're coming!
Absolutely gorgeous, Lisa! Danny and I just got back from a walk where we
scared up a great blue heron (very close) and a wild turkey hen as well as
seeing our regular flock of turkey vultures. Unfortunately I was too slow
(and not paying attention--they startled me) for the heron and the turkey
and the vultures were too far away to get clearly. Last night I caught a
glimpse of a cock pheasant, but, again, I was too slow and not ready for
it. Sigh. I guess I'll just have to keep coming over here for the bird
photos:o)
Those are so pretty. Glad to hear your parents are okay.
I hate tornados hate them!! Glad your parents are okay!! And love your
picks!!
Those are so cool. I don't think I have ever seen them before. They
probably aren't happy about the snow at all. Our yard is pretty sheltered
so we still have lots of snow on the ground.
