My favorite nuts are Filberts and Almonds. My husband pampers me by cracking them for me. I had a little handful of nuts and was carefully eating them one at a time, taking time to savor the flavor. On impulse I popped the last three from my hand into my mouth and quickly discovered that Filberts and Almonds, when mixed, are bitter.
I told my husband, “You do not want to mix them together. They taste bitter that way.”
He gave me a look.
“Try it”, I suggested.
He gave me a new look. You know the look, the one says, ‘I cannot believe you said that! Are you nuts?!’
Why do we (humans) do this? We not only want to share the good with each other but also the bad. If you smell something good, like a flower, don’t you say, “Wow that smells good. Smell it.” On the other hand if you think your car stinks don’t you say something along the lines of, “You should smell my car, it’s horrible”? If you take a big gulp of sour milk I bet you want to share that too. “Is this milk bad? Can you taste it for me?” When you know dang well it’s bad, you just spit a mouthful of it all over your shirt. Unfortunately, my husband is too smart to fall for any of these bad shares.
yes. always trying to get people to smell my feet.
Hahaha. Yes. The husband and I try to do similar things to each other. Ah,
love. Nobody ever buys it. Now I wonder why we bother.
You're so right! I never ever offer up the really good stuff. i might offer
up the okay stuff and defo the bad. But the really good? it's all mine
That is funny, and I must say so true. It is always, "can you smell that,
get closer". Or, "smell my hand, there is something on it, I think it is
pee". Or, "does this smell like puke to you?"
I try and get my husband to smell the bad just to make sure I haven't lost
my mind. You know - having someone agree with me makes me feel better.
